  23. I am having problems with my installation of ARM-Linux on my Acorn RiscPC
  24.  
  25. I have a the kernel booting, and then I insert my root disk, and press   
  26. return.
  27. There seems to be 2 parts of the installation..
  28.  
  29. the REDHAT setup begins and asks me to specify where to install from:

  31. I choose IDE (ATAPI CD-ROM)
  32.  
  33. My cdrom is mounted as read only and then it seems to check the Volume   
  34. label
  35. and tell me that redhart linux is not on my cd-rom.

  37. I have downloaded the /distrib/Redhat directory from the arm-linux
  38. ftp archive.. I have made 3 CD's with the Redhat install files..
  39.  
  40. And I am frustrated now..

  43. I do have a network card.. so maybe I could install through NFS..

  45. I choose an install method and get to insert the supplement disk..
  46. after it loads I can press F2 and get to a command prompt..

  48. I try to mount my CDROM, but I can not get it to work, I keep getting an   
  49. error saying
  50. it can not mount because it is a read only file system..

  52. I do this..

  54. #mknod /dev/hdb b 3 64
  55. #mkdir /cdrom
  56. #mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdb /cdrom

  58. then I get the error message..

  60. If I could get the cdrom to mount, I might be able to get RedHat   
  61. Installed..

  63. I have been using the install text that is on the ftp server..
  64. it has been most helpful..

  66. anyhow..

  68. If anyone knows how I can get my CD-rom to mount properly,
  69. or how I can efficiently install REdhat on my RiscPC I would
  70. greatly appreciate it..
